O God, we know you care about each of your children, around the globe. We praise your loving kindness, your merciful grace. This day we lift to you Dan. So far from home and family, as he does his best to serve with faithfulness and honor. Hold him tightly, Holy One. Give him courage. As he endures harsh conditions, loneliness and great danger, let him know your nearness. Help him feel your love, and comfort his family that longs to be reunited with him. Also, we pray for the end of war. We pray for your strength, your wisdom and your reconciliation. That the serving men and women of every nation might be at home, wrapped in their families, we seek your peace, here on earth, as in heaven. Creator, bless us all as we pray in your holy name. Amen.
A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS
The Idea
As the Holy Spirit is the love exchange between the Father and the Son so may this same Spirit of Love increase the charity within my family.
Right around mid-October of 2009 it hit me that I wanted to be more intentional with praying for my family on an individual basis. As the thought matured I thought it would be nice to make this action a little more communal by inviting my family to be joining with me in the weekly intention. Hopefully through this we would all in a way be coming together in prayer no matter where we are on the globe. After all a family that prays together, stays together.
I thought this would be a nice Christmas present to my whole family, so below you'll find the weekly schedule and in the body of this site I'll post a different prayer each weekend for the family member that we'll be praying for during the week.
